The Supreme Court has issued an interim order to halt the expansion of Kalanki-Nagdhunga road, saying it would cause a huge loss to the people in vicinity if the road section broadening was continued.
A division bench of Justices Kedar Prasad Chalise and Ananda Mohan Bhattarai on Sunday issued the order in this regard, said Joint-Spokesperson at the SC, Bishwo Raj Paudel.On February 23 this year, a total of 47 locals, including Sanu Shresha, had filed a case at the apex court claiming they could be badly affected by the project.
The Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister was made defendant in the petition.
The writ petition had stated that a total of 47 houses would be demolished in course of the road expansion and demanded the immediate halt.
