Tower and Multiplex -- a new mall cum cinema complex in Chuchepati -- opened its doors to the customers from Tuesday, eyeing Dashain shoppers.

“We opened the complex on the first day of Dashain festival in order to make it easier for people to carry out Dashain shopping. The mall will be a perfect shopping destination for the people of all classes and age groups,” Ganesh Dhungana, general manager of K L Tower and Multiplex, told Republica.

K L Tower and Multiplex is being promoted as a ´fixed price´ shopping destination. “We have made K L Tower and Multiplex a ´fixed price´ shopping complex so that people do not have to bargain and waste their time, said Dhungana. “Nonetheless, all the stores are providing 20 to 30 percent discount during Dashain.”

The 10.5-story tower, which is spread over 6 ropanis, has a total of 62 shops. It has a view tower and a revolving restaurant on the top floor. The complex has facilities like ATM lounge, departmental store, video parlor, coffee bar, food court, gaming zone, international standard multiplex and 6D/8D theaters, meeting hall and conference hall, among others. The department store at K L Tower has started its operation from September 26.

According to Dhungana, every floor of the mall specializes on certain items. The ground floor has showrooms of international brands, cosmetics and a department store named Namaste Nepal, whereas the first floor has stores for mobile phones and electronics. Likewise, the second floor has stores dealing on camera, computer, laptops, sportswear and shoes, and a bank. The third floor comprises of stores showcasing readymade garment and fashion wears for kids and ladies.

“We will soon open a gaming zone and a beauty parlor on the fourth floor and a food court and multi sensory 6D or 8D theaters on the fifth floor. The food court will have 15 stalls capable of serving 1,500 people at a time,” said Dhungana.

Cinema City - a three-screen international standard cinema -- will open within a few months,” according to Dhungana.
