Arghakhachi: At a time when the price of land pieces and real estate was slow in major cities of the country, the price of land in Sandhikharka, the district headquarters of Arghakhanchi, has skyrocketed.
The traders have even sold the public land pieces by encroaching the land for business purpose.
According to the District Land Revenue Office, per ropani land is being sold at Rs 30 million in the main market areas.
The traders have plotting the arable land and other areas in adjoining areas of the district headquarters as no land pieces were available in the city area.
Even the steep land and forest areas have been sold as no land pieces are available in the main road and city areas. The traders have converted 105 ropani steep land of local Guntekhola in the housing land piece by the use of dozer.
A huge amount of remittance inflow has acted as a catalyst to the price hike of the land in the district headquarters, said secretary of the Arghakhanchi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Netra Prasad Bhusal.
