Two arrested for forging land ownership certificates
Kathmandu: The Central Investigation Bureau of Nepal Police arrested two persons long involved in forging land ownership certificates to secure bank loans.
According to CIB, Madan Kumar Sah (42) of Kishori and Bharat Lal Malik (29) of Janakpur-10, Dhanusa had been forging land ownership certificates, mostly of those persons who own land in one district but live in another, to keep the property as collateral in banks and financial institution. Sah and Mallik were arrested by CIB personnel yesterday. The duo had successfully extracted three million rupees in loan from Janakpur-based Prabhu Finance by forging land certificate of Kishor Kumar Bista and Shailendra Kumar Bista of Hetauda.
Police have also recovered land maps of various districts, land ownership certificates and seals of various government offices. CIB also had arrested Pushpa Raj Shah of Kavre, Rajan Thami of Dolakha, Gokarna Prasad Dhungana of Chitwan, Sishir Ranjitkar of Jhochhen, Jeet Bahadur Lama of Lalitpur, Pushpa Raj Sunuwar of Ramechhap and Shiva Adhikari of Dhalku on similar charges.
